Soul Nourishing Art

Looking for art
that inspires?

Welcome to my world of meaningful color.

I take abstract ideas and make them tangible, instead abstracting tangible things (which is what many people think abstract art is about).

I paint with passionate creativity, effervescent joy, and deep soulfulness.

I hope my vibrant art can brighten your days.

Abstractions

“Polly, I could recognize your exhuberent and colorful work anywhere. These are great! Each one is different, you have explored broadly, but each has the lively patterning and bright color that is so YOU.”   Jane Davies

Plein Air Landscapes

“Plein air” simply means it was painted outside, from life, on location. The term comes from the 19th century in France, when the impressionists such as Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Cezanne, and Van Gogh, started taking the newly available paint tubes out into the field to paint in the open air.

It’s both fun and challenging to paint out in the changing light, with the sounds and smells augmenting the experience. I’ve enjoyed painting en plein air my whole life, letting nature pass through me out onto the page.

I hope these paintings give you the feeling of what it’s like to be in these lovely places.
