When spring is on the verge of coming there is a particular quality to the light. It is airy and ascending. Birds start returning and plants start peeking above the soil. There is an aroused stirring and a vivid brightness and the release of pent up lightheartedness. I tried to capture all this seasonal excitement in this painting.
